As I stand poised at the end of my driveway, I watch cars zoom past my house at 100 to 120 km/h, far faster than the speed limit allows. On the other side of the road, stands my mailbox.

Some days, I could take my life in my hands just to get my hydro bill. Talk about big risk, small reward.

Over the next five years, I’ll find a notice inside that Canada Post will stop delivering to my specific address. Instead, I will pick up my flyers and bills at a community box. And I’m OK with that.
