The 22nd annual Empty Bowls fundraiser by the Kawartha Potters Guild takes place on Friday, Feb. 27, at Showplace Performance Centre, 290 George St. N., to raise money for One City Peterborough.

“Last year, the event raised approximately $18,000, with proceeds shared between One City and Kawartha Food Share,” says Mackenzie Clark-Smith, fundraising and communications co-ordinator. “This year, we have set a goal of $15,000, with all proceeds supporting One City. As the event has evolved following the YWCA’s involvement in years past and moves to a new venue for the first time, we are excited to build on previous years’ success and hope to sell 200 tickets, the number of people who attended last year.”

About 200 bowls are being created for the event by more than 25 potters, with several restaurants participating, including Hard Winter Bakery, Hanoi House, La Mesita, The Vine, St.........
