Norwood Fair crowns this year’s ambassador

With just two months or a little more than eight weeks until the big day, the countdown to the Norwood Fair has officially begun with the crowning of the 2026 Norwood Fair Ambassador. The annual tradition was held this past Sunday at the village community centre. 

Congratulations to Jordyn Stevenson on becoming the 2026 Norwood Fair Ambassador. Jordyn received her crown from 2025 Ambassador Lora Ross.

There were three competitors vying for the title this year; Jordyn, Charlotte Pearce and Madison Smith, however what was lacking in numbers was far surpassed by the incredible talent, enthusiasm and passion shown by these three amazing young ladies.

Jordyn, Charlotte and Madison gave the three judges a near impossible task to consider as they were judged on their self-confidence and speaking abilities, their knowledge of the fair and community as well as their understanding and involvement in agricultural activities. Each contestant participated in an interview with the judges, presented a prepared speech and answered an impromptu question. 

All three girls spoke passionately about the fair and what it means to them and the community in their speeches. Each put considerable emphasis on the importance of the large volunteer base that has been the backbone of the fairs success. They mirrored the sentiment of the 2026 fair theme “Where Fall Feels like Home” by demonstrating the fact that the fair has becoming more than just a simple destination for fair goers; it is a feeling and it is that feeling that has brought people back year after year and generation after generation.

The 2026 Ambassador Jordyn Stevenson was sponsored by Norwood’s Vanderview Farms. Jordyn is the 17-year-old daughter of Misty and Justin Stevenson of Havelock. She will be entering Grade 12 at Norwood District High School in September. Jordyn........
