India’s ‘lie master’ narrative exposed yet again in IoJ&K

India has once again come under intense scrutiny after claiming that a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander, identified as “Musa” or “Asif Fauji,” had been eliminated during a security operation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoJ&K). The claim was subsequently challenged in dramatic fashion when the Pakistani soldier whom Indian reports had identified as the deceased appeared alive before the media. On 29 September 2026, Indian authorities and media outlets reported that a high-ranking LeT commander had been killed during an operation in Budgam district. Indian reporting identified the alleged militant as Muhammad Asif alias Hashim Musa and further claimed that he was a retired Pakistani Special Services Group (SSG) commando who had served with the 4 Commando “Yalgar” Battalion.

The account was decisively challenged on October 1, when Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, presented retired Havaldar Muhammad Asif before journalists in Rawalpindi. Pakistan stated that he was the very former SSG soldier whom Indian reports had claimed was killed. Havaldar Asif himself told reporters that he was alive and had been at home when friends contacted him after seeing reports of his alleged death. He said he had retired from the Pakistan Army in 2023 and was living in Rawalpindi. The episode therefore raises........
