Now, she is stepping down from that critical post, publicly to care for her ailing husband, after using her time overseeing the nation’s vast national security apparatus not to make anyone safer but to advance the MAGA agenda.

Her tenure was most notable for being excluded from President Trump’s inner circle due to her weird affinity for tyrants like deposed Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, who now sits in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting his federal trial. Gabbard also wasn’t trusted enough to be involved in the planning of the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear and missile sites.
