The white and blue Suzuki bike collided with the child at about 1pm on Sunday in Howe Lane, near the junction of Glenn Road, in Poringland.

The child was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by the East Anglian Air Ambulance, where they currently remain.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.

A second man in his 20s was also arrested in connection with the incident.

Both men were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning but have since been bailed until July 24 and July 26 respectively, a police spokeswoman has said.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
