The Norwich City of Stories Summer Trail opens on July 18 and runs until August 31, turning the city centre into a giant book-themed treasure hunt during the school holidays.

Organisers say the initiative will celebrate books, imagination, and Norwich’s long-standing reputation as a city of stories.

The trail has been organised by VisitNorwich, part of Norwich Business Improvement District (BID), with Norwich Cathedral as the headline partner.

It also forms part of activities linked to the National Year of Reading and highlights Norwich’s status as England’s first UNESCO City of Literature.

Families, residents, and visitors will be able to pick up a free trail map and search for storybooks displayed in shop windows and venues across the city centre.

John Lewis, Waterstones, Jarrolds, The Book Hive, National Centre for Writing at Dragon Hall, the Millennium Library, and Norwich Theatre Royal.
