New Delhi: In a major development that would boost India’s defence sector, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and General Electric Aerospace (GEA) have reached an agreement under which F414 jet engines would be co-produced in India.

Under the agreement, around 80 per cent of the manufacturing technology and intellectual property rights will be transferred to HAL, The Tribune reported. A formal contract on the same is likely to be announced before the end........
