‘Highly unlikely’: Donald Trump on extension of ceasefire between US and Iran
Tensions between Iran and the US further escalated in recent times, after President Trump announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. In his announcement, Trump had said that ships passing through the waterway after paying toll to Iran would not be allowed to pass through.
Washington: US President Donald Trump on Monday said that its highly unlikely that the ceasefire would be extended once it ends on Wednesday night. The ceasefire was initially announced for two weeks and began on April 7. The US and Iran held a first round of talks in Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad recently. The talks failed at time.
