New Delhi: Sony is closing 2025 with two very different hardware announcements: one aimed at gamers who want a sleek desktop setup and another that targets price-conscious players in Japan. The company has revealed a new 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor built for the PS5 and, separately, a Japan-only PlayStation 5 model priced nearly 25 percent lower than the standard version.

The announcements were made through an official PlayStation Blog post and during Tuesday’s State of Play showcase. Both products hint at how Sony is expanding its hardware strategy, offering more flexibility to players and experimenting with regional pricing.

Developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the new 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor is designed for those who prefer playing from a desk rather than a TV setup. It features a Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS panel with a resolution of up to 2560 x 1440 and supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) with Auto HDR Tone Mapping for both PS5 and PS5........
