Aston Martin will be delaying its maiden EV launch to 2033 or later

Aston Martin is delaying the arrival of its first EV up to 2033 since the brand only needs to have battery-electric vehicles ready to meet regulatory requirements in certain markets shortly before 2035.

New Delhi: Aston Martin has pushed back the introduction of its first fully electric model once again. The brand is now looking at a launch sometime between 2033 and 2035. CEO Adrian Hallmark said there is no longer a firm date for the debut. He explained that the brand only needs to have battery-electric vehicles ready to meet regulatory requirements in certain markets shortly before 2035.

Speaking to Autocar UK, Hallmark described Aston Martin as a “BEV delayer” rather than a “BEV denier” and said the brand will remain predominantly focused on internal-combustion engines until 2035. Aston Martin has revised its EV timeline several times. The brand originally planned to introduce its first electric car in 2025 before shifting the target to 2026 and later suggesting that the model would arrive by 2030. The newest plan pushes further back.
