Delhi women’s safety: SC seeks status report from police on crime prevention measures
The Supreme Court pointed out that orders and directives are insufficient on paper. It observed that impact of orders must be visible on the ground. It also sought a status report from the Delhi Police on measures taken to ensure the safety of women and children.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Delhi Police about preventive policing measures that could be adopted to stop rape and sexual crimes against women in the national capital. The questions were raised when the top court was hearing a petition on continual reports of rape and sexual offenses against women and minors in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
