‘Nitish should not have been let go’: KC Tyagi backs Digvijaya Singh at CWC meeting

New Delhi: A day after Digvijaya Singh said at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting that former Bihar chief minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar should not have been let go from the UPA fold, socialist leader KC Tyagi on Wednesday backed the Congress leader’s statement.
Speaking to News9 Managing Editor Kartikeya Sharma, the former JD(U) leader said, “I agree with him. I am a witness to that incident. It happened in Hisar on Chaudhary Devi Lal’s death anniversary. Nitish Kumar had appealed to non-Congress parties with folded hands, saying that if they wanted to oust the BJP, it could not be done without the Congress. He came to Delhi and met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. For six months, no Opposition meeting took place. Frustrated, Nitish Kumar eventually convened a meeting himself.”
