According to Autocar India, the top five luxury brands, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Audi and Volvo, sold 48,849 units in FY2025, about 3.54% more than the year before. According to a Reuters report, Mercedes-Benz India saw sales of its most expensive, top-end models rise 12% in 2025, while its entry-level luxury sales dropped 23%. So buyers are not only entering the premium segment; many are climbing higher within it, towards costlier cars. Rising incomes, easier financing, a wider choice of models and strong interest from younger buyers in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities are all feeding this trend.
