New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday accused the Centre of trying to stop its planned protest against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that permission for an event involving INDIA bloc parties had been denied. Delhi Police, however, clarified that permission for the Congress rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1 remains valid, subject to certain conditions.

Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal said the party had planned a public impeachment event against Kumar as part of its campaign against alleged electoral irregularities and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The event was intended as a........
