Kolkata: Samvat 2082 began on a cheerful note for equity investors with both Sensex and Nifty ending the one-hour special Muhurat session in the green. While Sensex 30 was significangtly up at 84,426.34, up 474.16 points or 0.56%, Nifty 50 was almost flat, closing at 25,868.60, up 25.45 points or 0.0098%.

The special session was conducted between 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm on October 21. Trading marking the beginning of Samvat 2082 started on a cheerful note, with both Sensex and Nifty notching up significant gains in the first few minutes of the special session. Just five minutes after trading began, Sensex 30 stood at 4,546.23, up 594.04 points (or 0.71%), while Nifty 50 stood at 25,904.45, up 61.30 points (or 0.24%).
