Uttar Pradesh Police recovered the bodies of two missing friends buried behind a temple in Baghpat's Lahchaura village. The local temple priest is on the run, while two individuals have been detained for questioning regarding the suspected double murder.

New Delhi: The bodies of two men, who had been missing for nearly three weeks, were found buried behind a temple in Lahchaura village in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district on Thursday, the police said.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Ankit and 32-year-old Israr. Their remains were recovered after local authorities excavated the premises belonging to the temple’s priest, Mahant Naresh Nath, who is currently on the run.
