Bay of Bengal system may become depression in 6 hours, cyclonic storm in 24 hours

A well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal could strengthen into a depression within six hours and a cyclonic storm within 24 hours, the IMD said. The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards the Andhra Pradesh coast. The forecast places it over the west-central Bay of Bengal near the coast by November 2 evening.

New Delhi: A weather system over the southeast Bay of Bengal could intensify into a cyclonic storm within 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The system is likely to move towards the Andhra Pradesh coast and reach the nearby west-central Bay of Bengal by November 2 evening.
