We love a good burger in our house so the ears pricked up when we discovered a butchers not too far from home is selling the some of the UK's best.

Fraser’s Butchers has won two national prizes in this year's coveted Smithfield Awards, which offer prestigious recognition of the industry's best meat products.

One of 10 artisan butchers from across the UK to be crowned top of their class, the Bolton butcher won the Diamond awards in both the Burger and BBQ categories for its Minted Lamb and Halloumi Kebab and its Mega Burger.

On top of the two Diamond prizes, the Great Lever butcher also made the final shortlist in the Hot Eating Pie category for both its Roast Chicken and Gravy Pie and its Meat and Potato Pie.
