'We stayed at the Peak District holiday park on the doorstep of world famous stepping stones trail'
If there's one thing I've come to terms with as a parent it's that school holidays are often not accompanied by sunshine.
Admittedly we might get a few weeks at the peak of summer, but February half term in particular usually means you're in for a few damp days out.
But we didn't let the weather deter us from packing our bags for a weekend in Derbyshire and come what may, we were determined to get the reluctant teenagers out for a walk.
Our short break destination was Sandybrook Luxury Lodge Holidays, close to the picturesque market town of Ashbourne on the southern fringe of the Peak District.
With just 53 lodges in all, it's a pretty small site, which makes it all the more peaceful.
There's loads to keep you busy, from the indoor swimming pool with a sauna and jacuzzi, to mini golf, a play area and football field, and even an indoor games room with pool tables, air hockey and table football.
