The Trump White House sparked criticism on Tuesday for hijacking a viral TikTok meme to promote its anti-immigration agenda.

The video showed people in chains being escorted onto airplanes for what looked like their removal from the United States. It was set to the upbeat soundtrack of a 2022 commercial for British tour operator Jet2 in which voice actor Zoe Lister says “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday” over Jess Glynne’s hit song “
