Kemi Badenoch has rejected the idea of setting up a coalition government with Reform UK, describing it as “monstrous”.

The Conservative leader ruled out any prospect of a deal with her right-wing opponents, saying it would deter as many voters as it would attract.

There’s long been speculation that the Tories will have to join forces with Reform following their historic defeat in the 2024 general election.

But speaking to broadcaster Iain Dale at the Edinburgh Fringe, Badenoch said: “[Reform is] just people fighting all the time.
