Elders: Nature’s True Lovers
Kashmir, renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, attracts visitors from every corner of the globe throughout the year, offering them a unique charm and experience. However, behind its natural splendour and wonders, lies the wisdom of our ancestors who shaped and nurtured this land over centuries, only to be carried forward with great care. But alas, presently, the attitude of people towards valley’s natural landscape has become so brutal and selfish that they least repent what harm they do to it.
Our elders loved nature closely. At every step, they protected Kashmir’s natural surroundings for future generations. Unlike us, they were real lovers and custodians of it, and always treated themselves as guests, not owners. Raised by nature and devoted to earth, they shared an unbreakable bond with nature and as green guardians of a rich past, they wanted their legacy to be that be cherished and preserved.
To our elders, nature was a teacher whose wisdom they had learned by being close to it. With their unwavering dedication and ingenuity, without expecting anything in return, they took lovely care of trees, streams, wetlands, lakes, and rivers. They protected them for us.
