Wicked led the 2025 SAG Awards film nominations Wednesday, scoring five nods including Outstanding Acting Ensemble and Outstanding Female Actor for Cythina Erivo.

The blockbuster movie musical was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Female Actor for Ariana Grande, Outstanding Supporting Male Actor for Jonathan Bailey and Outstanding Stunt Ensemble.

A Complete Unknown, Anora and Emilia Pérez each earned three film nominations.

The SAG Awards were suppossed to be announced live by actors Joey King and Cooper Koch on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. ET / 7:30 a.m. PT, but SAG-AFRTA cancelled the event because of the ongoing Los Angeles-area wildfires. The nominations were issued via a press release instead.

Emilia Pérez earned nominations for Outstanding Acting Ensemble, Outstanding Female Actor for Karla Sofía Gascón and Outstanding Supporting Female Actor for Zoe Saldana.

A Complete Unknown was nominated for Outstanding Acting Ensemble, Outstanding Male Actor for Timothée Chalamet and Outstanding Supporting Female Actor For Monica Barbaro.

Anora’s nominations included Outstanding Acting Ensemble, Outstanding Female Actor for Mikey Madison and Outstanding Supporting Male Actor for Yura Borisov.

On the television side, Shōgun led all SAG nominees with five nods, including Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series, Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series for Tadanobu Asano and Hiroyuki Sanada, Outstanding Female Actor in Drama Series for Anna Sawai and Outstanding Stunt Ensemble.

The Bear was next with four SAG nominations, including Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Male Actor in a Comedy Series for Jeremy Allen White, and Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Ayo Edebiri and Liza Colón-Zayas.

"Maria" star Angelina Jolie was snubbed in SAG's Best Female Actor category.

Since the Golden Globes organization nominates 12 female actors and 12 male actors in the lead categories — Best Motion Picture — Drama and Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy — there were some notable absences among the nominees for the 2025 SAG Awards.

Chief among them were Golden Globes nominees Angelina Jolie and Hugh Grant, who were snubbed in the Outstanding Female Actor and Outstanding Male Actor categories.

Sebastian Stan, who won the Best Male Actor in a Musical or Comedy Golden Globe for a A Different Man, also failed to secure a SAG nomination.

Another Golden Globe nominee, Nicole Kidman, was surprisingly snubbed in the Outstanding Female Actor category for Babygirl.

In the Outstanding Male Actor in a Supporting Role category, Golden Globe nominees Denzel Washington (Gladiator II) and Guy Pearce (The Brutalist) also missed the cut. Instead, Jonathan Bailey (Wicked) and Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice) scored surprise nominations in the category.

In the Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role category, Golden Globe nominees Selena Gomez (Emilia Pérez), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave) and Margaret Qualley (The Substance) missed out on SAG nominations.

Instead, Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), Jamie Lee Curtis (The Last Showgirl) and Danielle Deadwyler (The Piano Lesson) all scored surprise nods.

In addition to the competitive awards, Jane Fonda has been chosen for this year’s SAG Life Achievement Award, which is SAG-AFTRA’s highest honor.

Per the guild, the SAG Awards are voted on by SAG-AFTRA’s membership, which consists of 122,000-plus performers.

Actor Kristen Bell will be hosting the 2025 SAG Awards, which will be handed out Sunday, Feb. 23, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT in Los Angeles and will be streamed live on Netflix.
