What happens when experience meets a different way of thinking: Leadership stories across the new ec
Business is increasingly being shaped by people who approach familiar problems differently. Across education, nutrition, pharma, real estate and India’s startup ecosystem, these five leaders are building around ideas that extend beyond conventional playbooks. Their stories are distinct, but share a common thread: each has drawn on experience, identified a gap and chosen to build with a clear point of view. Here are five leadership journeys worth looking at more closely.
Ayush Khandelwal & Deepak Sahu: Building Toppersclubs Around What JEE and NEET Aspirants Actually Need
Ayush Khandelwal and Deepak Sahu, Co-Founders of Toppersclubs, came to the same problem from two very different experiences with the education system.
Khandelwal, a B.Tech graduate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, also founded EliteCreatorsHub.com, an influencer marketing agency that has crossed 500 million views for brands with strong ROI, bootstrapped and profitable from day one. That experience gave him hands-on acumen across content, technology and growth, and an instinct for turning complex problems into simple systems.
Sahu took a different route. He cleared NEET on his first attempt in 2021, securing AIR 5, and soon after began mentoring students on YouTube, quickly becoming one of the most recognisable voices for the exam online. His channel has since crossed 190,000 subscribers and reaches over a million students monthly. Having cracked it himself, on the first try, Sahu understood not just how to prepare for NEET, but how to actually become a topper, an understanding that would go on to shape Toppersclubs.
Four years ago, that mix of business discipline and on-ground insight led to a simple bet: aspirants don’t need more content, they need guidance from people who’ve actually cracked the exam. Like Khandelwal’s earlier venture, Toppersclubs was built bootstrapped and profitable from day one, growing from Sahu’s own mentoring into a network of 20 toppers ranked AIR 1 to 100, now backed by its own app.
Students can build a custom test by choosing exactly which chapters or subjects to practice. The platform tracks each student’s patterns, slow topics, guessed answers, recurring mistakes, and pushes more questions from weak areas. An All India Test Series lets them benchmark against every serious aspirant nationwide.
The real shift: a page-wise NCERT question set built by subject experts alongside NEET toppers ranked AIR 1 to 25, built the way no test series has been built before.
For Khandelwal and Sahu, the principle stays simple: the right person to guide a topper is someone who has already been one.
