THE joint Green and SNP council budget has delivered the biggest investment in frontline services the city has seen for many years.

I’ve worked on eight budgets in my time as a councillor and some of those have been, frankly, horrendous, due to years of austerity.

It has been very welcome to finally have more funding coming in from national governments.

We still face huge pressures from National Insurance and the consequences of Home Office decisions on our homelessness services – both of which sit at the door of the Labour government in Westminster.
