Major US-Led Operation Against Indian-Linked Criminal Networks — Operation Hard Ball resulted in charges against 37 defendants tied to three India-based transnational crime groups, including Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, accused of involvement in the 2023 assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada, along with murder-for-hire, extortion, drug trafficking, and other crimes.

Investigators arrested 24 suspects, carried out dozens of search warrants. They also seized about 1,000 kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of heroin, plus firearms and cash. A few suspects are still fugitives, at least for now.

Even though the allegations are still being handled through judicial proceedings, Operation Hard Ball already appears as one of the most sizeable coordinated Western law-enforcement efforts aimed at India-linked transnational criminal........
