If only Anthony Fauci had cared as much about facts during the COVID-19 pandemic as he did about his fame. The release of his diaries should embarrass him and remind us that many of the people pushing lockdowns and restrictions were deeply flawed.

From expert to celebrity

In the early days of the pandemic, Fauci served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a medical adviser to the president. While his main role should have been providing serious medical advice, clearly he relished his growing celebrity status.
