MP 'incredibly proud' of Channel 4 documentary involvement
In February, Jess Asato MP for Lowestoft, co-hosted in Parliament a meeting organised by Karma Nirvana, a charity which supports victims of ‘honour-based abuse’ - where a crime is committed to protect the 'honour' of a family.
It heard from survivors of the crime, including the mother of Fawziyah Javed, who was pushed to her death on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh by her abusive husband, and eventually saw a raft of new measures put in place in 2025.
Fawziyah’s story was brought together in a Channel 4 documentary called ‘The Push: Murder on the Cliff’, and excerpts were shown as part of the meeting.
Fawziyah Javed, 31, and her unborn child died after she was pushed from Arthur’s Seat by her husband.
Now, Ms Asato has said she is "incredibly proud" to have been invited to the 2025 BAFTA Television Award in May to........
