For years, there have been calls to install a crossing on Norwich Road, in Brooke, amid safety fears for local children.

The road runs through the centre of the village and is crossed by children who need to get to Brooke Primary School.

Now, a Norfolk County Council spokesman has confirmed that an Active Travel funding award of £280,000 has been secured, and the new crossing is "currently nominally planned for construction in March/April 2027" in the south Norfolk village.
