Council backs plans to reopen community café after charity collapse
Access Community Trust, which had previously provided housing, wellbeing hubs, and support services across Suffolk and Norfolk for decades, ceased trading in February, leading to widespread closures and almost 100 people losing their jobs on their pay day.
Among the affected services was Sam's Café in Lowestoft, a well-used community space offering meals and support for vulnerable locals.
East Suffolk Council said it has since been working to secure the cafe's future, with the aim to reopen it later this month.
