The body of Dr Hannah Cain, 45, was discovered at her address in Fern Hill, Dersingham, in the early hours of Sunday, October 4.

Mark Cain, 45, of Fern Hill, Dersingham, was arrested after the incident and charged with her murder on Tuesday afternoon.

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court today, where he appeared in the dock accompanied by security officer for the hearing lasting less than 10 minutes.

Wearing a black sweatshirt, he spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth and showed little emotion.
