Sally Mittuch, 59, moved to Weybread, near Harleston on the Suffolk/Norfolk border, 11 years ago.

She and husband Scott Vincent, an architect, live three doors down from a former poultry slaughterhouse owned by poultry and pork giant Cranswick and their garden backs onto the site.

The Cranswick plot includes the Crown Inn pub which has been closed for many years. It was originally earmarked for demolition under the plans but has since been removed from the application.

Ms Mittuch is leading a bid for the freehouse to be revived as a community pub after Cranswick put it up for sale in October with a guide price of £200k freehold.
