Red Rooster Festival cancelled as business faces voluntary liquidation

The event - created by the Duke of Grafton - was due to take place on May 28-30.

Organisers say after a sustained period of financial pressure they have engaged insolvency experts with a view to placing the company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.

"It is with much regret that Red Rooster Festival, which was due to take place between 28–30 May 2026 at Euston Hall, Suffolk, has been cancelled," organisers said in a statement. "Red Rooster Festivals Limited has faced a sustained period of financial pressure, including reduced ticket sales, rising operational costs and the wider challenges facing independent festivals.

"Those pressures have been compounded by inflation, higher fuel and transport costs, supply chain pressures and cost-of-living pressures affecting consumer spending.

"Despite significant efforts by the directors to secure additional funding and reduce costs, the position became unsustainable."

Set against the backdrop of the estate's parkland, the annual festival was a blend of blues, country, gospel and rock featuring new and established artists.

Among the artists due to perform were folk, soul and psychedelic country singer Valerie June, American blues musician Bobby Rush, country singer Kassi Valazza and blues-punk duo Left Lane Cruiser.

Tickets for this year's event cost £154.50 for the full weekend.

The directors have engaged Bradley Parrott and Anthony Davidson of Opus Restructuring & Insolvency to advise on the company’s financial position.

"The directors have taken advice with a view to placing the company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation, in order to protect the interests of creditors," organisers said.

"Red Rooster Festival has meant a great deal to many people over the past 12 years, shaped by its community, returning supporters and the very special setting at Euston Hall.

"The directors recognise the significant disappointment and disruption this decision will cause for ticket holders, artists, crew, traders, suppliers, local businesses and festivalgoers."

Organisers of the East Anglia Game and Country Fair at the Euston Estate this weekend have stressed that their event is unaffected and will go ahead as planned.

The two-day event features a range of country pursuits, country entertainment and a large number of stalls.
