Next stage of plans to relocate village brewery given the green light

The Norfolk Brewhouse, known for its Moon Gazer beers, is set to move to Church Farm in Hindringham.

It has operated on a site at Harvest Lane, but the business said it had "outgrown" its current home.

The plans, which were approved last year, involve the conversion of three barns into a brewery, shop, tap room and a small events space.

A second planning application was put forward for extensions that will connect the existing barns.

This includes a link extension between the store and brewhouse, a single bay extension to the brewhouse, and link extension between the brewhouse and the tap room.

It was said that the development would facilitate the site's transformation into a microbrewery.

A planning statement with the application added that the extensions were necessary to provide a space for meetings and for health and safety reasons, including transporting goods in a controlled environment.

The brewery, which has created more than five million pints, recently celebrated its 2,000th brew.

The business was founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Rachel and David Holliday, who said their intention was "never to achieve global domination".

Mr Holliday had said: "For Rachel and me, it was always all about taking our fair share of Norfolk and East Anglia, earning the respect of customers and drinkers alike by bringing solid reliable beers that bring pleasure.

"We are so grateful of the support that we have received and are excited about the prospect of starting a new chapter, but also thrilled that we can do it within the village where our beer adventures all started".

The plans can be viewed in full on the North Norfolk District Council website, using the reference: PF/25/2818.
