The blaze started in Wiser Recycling, in Thetford, just after 7pm on Thursday,

Businesses in Brunel Way, where the recycling firm is based, were evacuated after the fire broke out.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service released images showing the scale of the devastating fire, which led to 27 crews being called to the blaze.

In an update on Friday night, the service confirmed it was scaling down the incident but would remain on scene throughout this evening.

The original advice to those in the area was to keep doors and windows closed; this advice has now been lifted.

A spokesman for the service added: "We would continue to ask people to stay back from the immediate area to allow us to work and would like to thank the local community for their understanding and support last night and today. "
