Why this town is often dubbed 'Chelsea-on-Sea'

The charming seaside town offers visitors a one-of-a-kind shopping experience with its high street full of independent businesses and award-winning cafes and restaurants.

Here are some reasons why Southwold is often referred to as Chelsea-on-Sea.

According to Rightmove, the average house price for Southwold over the past year is £739,079, which is £454,079 over the average house price in the UK - £285,000.

Speaking earlier this year, Peter Ogilvie, head of residential sales at Savills in Suffolk, said it was "no surprise" to see the coastal town has such a high average house price.
