Before Ipswich Crown Court was Arvydas Maliusis, of Recorder Road, Norwich, who denied murdering 39-year-old Ilja Akatjevas, who lived in Mill House, College Street, Ipswich.

The jury took less than four hours to reach its guilty verdict after a trial lasting two weeks.

Adjourning sentence until August 6, Judge Samantha Leigh said Maliusis had been "rightly convicted on overwhelming evidence".

She described the defendant's suggestion that a woman he had been with on the night of the killing was responsible for Mr Akatjevas's death as........
