Couple restoring derelict city building uncover hidden relic
The hundred-year-old sign was discovered by Howard and Anna Green when they were carrying out work on the Magdalen Street store after purchasing the site in March.
It is thought to date from the period when the premises operated as a barber's shop.

The retired couple have embarked on an ambitious restoration project which they hope will return the building to its former glory.
A FASCINATING MORNING
The pair were thrilled to discover the old sign was still there.
Anna Green, 66, a retired lecturer, said: “It was great. I had a memory of it from before and it was a fantastic morning.
“I was very relieved and excited that it was still there and my memory hadn’t played me false.
"I thought I might have dreamt it."
