Petrol station shut to customers while new Co-op is built

Energy company Shell has confirmed its location in Victoria Road, Diss, shut on Monday.

The closure will be in place while refurbishments to the building take place.

A spokesman for Shell said: "The site is expected to reopen later this year, bringing customers an upgraded station alongside a new Co‑op store offering and greater convenience."

There is no confirmed date when the store will reopen and locals will have to use the town centre's other filling station at Morrisons.

Last month, another of the company's petrol stations, based in Light Lane in Walton Highway, reopened with a new Co-op store after it was upgraded.

The building was expanded by 50sqm to accommodate new toilet facilities and additional storage.

The forecourt was also modernised, with new pumps fed by new underground fuel tanks installed.
