The incident happened in Bungay on Saturday, with fire crews from Norfolk and Suffolk called to Bridge Street at 3.38pm.

Crews found a hole in the pavement, caused by the blast, outside The Hermitage and set up a cordon around it.

Visible heat damage was found on the tarmac and brickwork outside the property.
