Fly-tipping pledge made by would-be police boss

Matthew Taylor, the Conservative candidate in the upcoming Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner, has announced plans to help free the countryside of dumped rubbish.

Mr Taylor is the Conservative vice-chairman of North Norfolk District Council, representing the Stalham ward.

Current rules mean that local authorities are responsible for removing rubbish from public land, but waste dumped on private land is the owner's responsibility.  

Mr Taylor said the situation was “completely unfair” and pledged to better support those affected if he was elected Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner.
