Josie Lloyd's 2023 novel, The Cancer Ladies' Running Club, is due to be filmed in the town later this year.

The production, which is being supported financially by North Norfolk District Council, will star Maxine Peake, who starred in Shameless and Dinnerladies, and Gemma Jones, who appeared in the Bridget Jones and Harry Potter films.

Councillors believe the film will generate tourism is in the town and agreed to back it at a meeting on Monday.
