The councillor faced an onslaught of hostile questions at an Attleborough Town Council (ATC) meeting on Monday where locals demanded to know what had happened to the money.

Ms Taylor, who is standing in next month's County Hall elections, has been under mounting pressure in recent weeks to clarify whether she has donated the £10,000, which was part of £20,000 she received in damages from the town council in 2021.

Under the terms of the settlement, she was required to give half to charity.

She has declined to say if this has happened and has accused the council - of which she remains a member - of not meeting its side of the agreement, thus removing the obligation for her to make the donation.

On Monday, the public questions section of the meeting was dominated by the saga.

One man asked: “Do you still have the money? Have you spent it? Or are you going to give the five years' worth of interest to charity as well?”
