Man to pay up after attacking police officer outside Marks & Spencer
The assault happened outside Marks & Spencer in London Road North, Lowestoft, at about 8.45am on Saturday.
A man was arrested at the scene before being bundled into the back of a police van.
An eyewitness, who has described the street as a "crime hot-spot", heard a "male inside kicking the side of the van".
"The van had to go off on blue lights and sirens as the man was going off so badly," he added.
Gareth Jones, 42, of no fixed abode in the Lowestoft area, was charged with assaulting a police officer.
He pleaded guilty before Norwich Magistrates' Court on Sunday morning and was ordered to pay compensation.
