North Norfolk village named among best UK weekend breaks
The Times has included Burnham Market in a round-up of the top places across the country to visit for a weekend getaway, with it being only two hours and 20 minutes from the capital.
Burnham Market ranked 11th, just behind the Isle of Wight and other well-known holiday hotspots in the UK.
In the article, it is described as Norfolk’s "most charming village" and a "great base" for exploring the beaches in the area.
"The vast swathe of sand at Holkham is nearby, along with 18th-century Holkham Hall, and the Norfolk Coast Path offers vast skies and plenty of birdwatching opportunities," the article added.
"Nearby, Wells-next-the-Sea is a pretty harbour town with a good mix of shops and cafés on Staithe Street."
The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market has recently undergone a refurbishment, including an expanded bar and dining area.
It has also launched a new seasonal menu built around locally-sourced ingredients.
