Norfolk police boss hails controversial mental health policy as 'success'

Sarah Taylor, the police and crime commissioner (PCC) for the county, said that despite the Right Care, Right Person (RCRP) scheme initially facing strong criticism, she had received no correspondence about it over the last nine months.

The implementation of the protocol, which means officers only attend mental health-related call-outs if there is an immediate risk to life, was placed on hold last year following the deaths of four family members in Costessey.

Despite receiving a call from Bartlomiej Kuczynski, officers were not sent to the property.

A member of the public later raised the alarm and the bodies of Kuczynski and three members of his family were found.........
