City folk braved the heat in temperatures nearing 30 degrees on Friday evening to express their concerns over illegal immigration.

They began gathering from 5.30pm for the event near the city's war memorial while at least six police officers stood watch around the area.

The protest took place after seven Afghan refugees pleaded not guilty to a raft of sexual offences against two girls said to have taken place between August 2023 and May 2025........
