Summer of stink looming as union reveals dates for Norfolk bin strikes
Around 100 workers employed by Great Yarmouth Services - including bin collectors, street cleaners, landscaping staff and grave diggers - will take strike action on August 6, 7, 10, 11 and 12, with unions warning that industrial action will escalate if no agreement is reached.
Unite, which represents the majority of staff involved, says workers are paid only “pennies above the minimum wage”, and claim equivalent roles in Norwich, Broadland and Lowestoft receive around 20 per cent........
