Protest as council is urged to hand over £500k to secure future of Norfolk ferry

West Lynn Ferry, which transports foot passengers between West Lynn and King’s Lynn, was shut for more than 200 days last year after its landing stage was declared unsafe.

Emergency repairs were done to get it up and running again, but a long-term fix - to replace and refurbish the landing sites - will cost £1.8m.

West Norfolk Borough Council is ready to put in £500,000, with a further £800,000 from the community infrastructure levy - money contributed by developers - towards a new walkway and metal landing stage.

But the borough council has also asked Reform-led Norfolk County........
